Beach Matters. Pattaya beach resort in Thailand is well known for its nighttime sex industry, but during the daytime, tourists flock to the sandy coastline. The series, shot between 2015 – 2018, is a colourful portrait of daily scenes and characters, capturing familial relationships, leisure time and a healthy dose of sun worshipping.

BIO | British born photographer, Larry Hallegua, has been shooting candid colour photography for the past 6 years, mainly in Asia and occasionally Europe. His work has been described as “bittersweet moments” and “fanciful characters frozen into bizarre activities”. In 2017 he was one of two winners in the Magnum Swapshop Competition, as well as having been a finalist in many other street photography contests. He’s also a member of the international photography collective, Observe.
